Evening Reflection
I was not in a laughing mood today. This guidance was especially challenging and I forgot to carry it with me on my morning errands, which included visits to my accountant, the car mechanic, and an office supply store.
Laugh? Hardly.
After I got home and collected my guidance, I ventured to the post office. The post office and laughing don’t traditionally go together, but I found myself finding places in conversation where I could infuse some humor and make the interaction lighter and more jovial.
And it worked. I made people laugh. Well, some. When we can bring lightness of being to a post office, a copy place, and a car mechanic, we are doing good work in the world!
While eating dinner, a family member read from a paper on Hamlet. “Hamlet lost his ability to laugh. He lost his mirth and doesn’t know why.” This coincidence affirmed that the message of laughing had been a perfect one for the day.
How did you do?
