The title for this blog comes from a ‘sister’ on the journey with me to ordination.
During one of our three summers together… I think it was last year but so much goes on at theological school that time is a very fluid factor. Anyway, each morning we start our day with chapel. It is a very grounding time for each of us.
The Lord’s prayer ends with… ‘And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen.’ Well, one morning Nancy quietly let me know… ‘the reality is at AST, it is the power and the Laurie!’ Since that day, each time we pray the Lord’s prayer either together or apart, we smile and we know we are each thinking about the other. There is not greater loyalty, faith or integrity. I am truly blessed to have Nancy on this journey with me and I am truly blessed to be on this journey in the company of my family, my friends and my congregations! Thank God for all of their love and support!
Thank you my sister on this journey. I do indeed think of you and softly smile when I get to the power and the Laurie part of the Lord’s Prayer. God in her wisdom has brought us together to reach this goal, as it’s too huge to go it alone. We go all together as classmates, AST Community, leaders in our congregations and with our God.
Love and blessings,
nancy
