God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be like a mountain standing in the blue sky.
Make love a strength in your being today.
Stand up for those you love; for those who need your strength and support.
With your words, give others beauty and light,
warmth and comfort.
Today you are strong enough to protect
others’ needs. Do not think about yourself.
Let your resolve stand you above the goings-on
of the day.
Rise into divinity when you feel yourself
becoming self-centred or needy.
Maintain your high resolve to stay in the light;
remain in the sunshine of love, grace, care, and
compassion.
Breathe in fresh air,
and bask in the breezes of love, understanding,
patience, gentleness, and goodness.
Stand with and look out for those
you come in contact with today;
those you love,
and those you do not know.
Root yourself in the ground of divinity
and gain the resources to live into this today.
Should this guidance become difficult,
don’t give up.
Rise up.
Will you do this today?
Evening Reflection
It did not take more than half and hour for me to be tested in this guidance.
I was presented with a personal challenge that took a tremendous amount of inner fortitude, love, and strength to meet. I did not see it coming. Have you ever been faced with a powerful challenge you didn’t ask for or see coming?
Spiritual guidance happens in many ways: perhaps as a response to prayer, or as words of wisdom that we recognize as a message for us. The point is that when Spirit guides us to act or speak a certain way, even when we do not know why, it is wise to follow the lead of God’s holy spirit. It is not blind obedience that I am talking about. It is trust-trust in God’s guidance based on our own past experiences of divine guidance, regardless of whether the results were what we wanted. Divine trust means knowing that there is a bigger picture, one which we may not see or even be privy to. Thus the great spiritual challenge: Let go and let God.
When we let go and let God, we become servants of the Divine, which then allows us to become angels for others at any time.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be watchful…
Be helpful.
Speak with patience and understanding.
Take no offence
but be like water
and adapt to the shape of the day.
Know that you are loved,
and walk in that knowledge.
Be a soft cushion for others to rest on.
May your love be deep and strong today.
May your emotions remain peaceful today.
May you look upon the day with thankfulness.
Be joyful all day
and watch the divine play unfold!
Evening Reflection
To adapt to the shape of the day was a beautiful guidance to live into. It took the pressure off, and I found myself just letting things be without feeling the need to control. I offered my ideas in meetings without a sense of ownership. I found I spoke easily and waited for a response with much less ego involvement and defensiveness in my inner stance than usual.
The fun in it all is that I am aware that I am doing this. I can feel the difference between doing it and not. The goal is to become more and more able to follow the guidance without thinking about it. However, it is a wonderful gift to have help along the way.
The guidance’s reminder that I am loved also allowed a relaxation within my being that made the day flow without me needing or desiring anything from anyone. What an experience!
Be a soft cushion for others to rest on-this was the most surprising item of the guidance. During my encounters with others throughout the day, I loved the feeling of being a soft cushion for them to rest upon. I seemed to move my body more smoothly and take things in stride; I didn’t feel as though I had to comment on this or that. I listened in a loving and accepting way and let the words of others sink in.
Watching-just watching-allowed me to enjoy and appreciate the gifts, personalities, and even the moods and dispositions of those I shared life with today. Today’s guidance grew on me as I sank deeper and deeper into it’s wisdom. I think I grew into it also.
How did you live with this one?

God, how would you have me be in the world today?

God, how would you have me be in the world today?
Be a jewel.
Be beautiful in all you do and say.
Be of great value, and offer value
in all interactions.
Dazzle! Sparkle! Shine!
Hold light within the core of
your being
so that your beauty and love
shine from the inside out.
Remember the divine ground from which you
come, and remember that it
has given you the
qualities you possess.
Use them with grace, appreciation, and humility.
Use them with power, confidence, and purpose.
Yes…
be a jewel in the world today.
Glimmer
with my holy
and sacred brilliance,
and add beauty wherever you are.
Yes…
be a precious gem today.
Dazzle! Sparkle! Shine!
Evening Reflection
Today my sister recruited me to work with a high school senior on an essay and research project. The student needed to complete the project in order to graduate. It was a somewhat stressful situation because the student was way behind in his work, through no fault of his own.
In steps my sister.
I happened to be in town visiting our mother and was called upon to help out. I drove an hour to meet with the student, who happened to share my first and last initials. We also shared an interest in the arts, as he wanted to become a professional actor.
The pressure of having to write a long paper rather quickly was palpable. The guidance reminded me that I needed to act as mentor and point of inspiration for the young man. As we got to the nitty-gritty of the research paper, the pressure mounted; I stayed conscious of the guidance and each part came into play when needed.
The student and I completed our task, had fun, and connected in a deep and meaningful way. I drove home knowing that I had lived out this guidance in one fell swoop with one human being.
What was your experience with today’s guidance?

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be refreshing,
like a cleansing rain.
Let words that awaken joy
and water the heart with love
fall from your mouth.
Let the sound of your voice be wet
with laughter, and may it splash
blessing onto everyone you speak with.
Say what is true and helpful.
Be clear in your actions,
that others may see your best intentions.
May you comfort those in need,
sharing the water of tears, if need be,
as you become one with their pain.
May you flow where I lead today.
Stay aware of
wisdom and grace
pouring out as you meet
each circumstance and opportunity.
Be refreshing.
Be joy alive.
Wash away negativity with appreciation and gratitude.
Live with a clean heart.
Be the living water of life today.
Refresh,
and be refreshed.
Evening Reflection
Today was relatively easy upon first thought, because I didn’t see many people. But on further reflection, I realized it had not been so simple. The people I had engaged with needed specific kinds of responses and energy.
First, I met an old high school friend for lunch, and we caught up on years of life. Then my sister came by with a colleague from oversees she wanted me to meet. We all conversed for a few hours, which included having dinner together. At the end of the day I sat with my aging mother as we talked and watched one of her favorite TV shows.
Each encounter was beautiful and drew upon my energy differently. My high school friend needed patient ears to listen to him as he retraced life events and their accumulated meaning. My sister’s friend received a phone call during his visit telling of the death of an acquaintance. I sat quietly across from him while he offered condolences and prayer. After the call he shared the situation back home. I empathized deeply as his sadness poured out. So I lived the part of the guidance about comforting someone today. I needed to be patient and attentive to my mother’s health needs even as we sat enjoying television. We laughed and simply appreciated sitting together.
I hope I was able to refresh today as the first sentence of the guidance encourages. But, if not, rain fell most of the day and I am sure it did refresh things.
Divinity always has a back up plan.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Rest in peace.
Do not be anxious.
Stay calm, no matter what transpires.
Speak slowly;
breathe deeply.
Do this intentionally,
especially when you feel
tension or worry arise.
Remember past successes.
Remember that I am
aware of all you go through
and am working on your behalf.
Trust the unfolding of the day,
and maintain a peacefulness
that allows you to relax
while I work in and through you.
As the day unfolds
be thankful for your life-
even for the challenges and problems you face.
I use all for your spiritual benefit.
Act with grace today.
Have faith that all is well.
Breathe deeply.
Stay calm.
Witness the unfolding of my providence.
Rest…in peace.

God, what wuld you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Speak in a manner that honors those you meet.
Be sincere in your acknowledgements.
Move in love.
Fill your gaze
with appreciation for those whose paths you cross,
for they are divine beings.
Walk amongst saints today-
and include yourself as one.
Hold deep gratitude
for those with whom you are sharing
your life journey.
Have no need to achieve notice for yourself,
but raise the esteem of those you speak with
by focusing on them with your full attention
and care.
Be vigilant.
Watch for anything
that hinders the giving of conditional love
and high regard.
Overcome your blocks with joy for life
and respect for all.
Today,all is divine,
all is miracle,
all is love.
Evening Reflection
Even as I become familiar with the synchronicity of the guidance and the challenges of each day, I am still constantly amazed. It is ever so clear that the wisdom and guidance of God are always available when we open ourselves to them. And you open yourself to wisdom and guidance by asking for them. Then you allow yourself to receive. How? By paying attention to your thoughts, your feelings, your intuition, and your gut.
Today was poignant. We had a family reunion of sorts. I was in Atlanta to see my mother, who had cooked a wonderful dinner of traditional soul food and invited the extended family over. The conversations were joyous, and the family closeness was precious. We prayed, sang, ate, talked, and laughed together and enjoyed each other immensely.
I stayed aware of the guidance and it helped me to focus on each person i talked with. I looked upon each person with appreciation and took special care to make sure the shy ones knew they were heard and appreciated. I listened eagerly and gently touched a shoulder or patted a back to affirm presence.I say each person as a miracle: each child, teenager, young adult, middle ager, and senior. I do not know how my behaviour registered with them, but the guidance ushered me into a rich, awakened experience of appreciation and gratitude for the people close to me.
Today was sweet-and the guidance, divine.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be gentle with yourself.
Accepting your humanity
is deeply important.
Forgive yourself whenever
anger, jealousy, or shame come up.
These are your unhealed wounds, whatever
the size.
Breathe and let compassion fill you.
Then extend this compassion
toward any person or situation
that disturbs your peace.
Remember that you are divine.
You are made of love in order to love.
Do not shrink or recoil.
Understand human nature.
Ask for whatever you need.
Believe in my love for you.
Breathe it in-and pass is on.
Love all today.
Love.
