God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be patient.
Wait.
Pause before saying or doing.
Waiting for you in that space
are guidance, encouragement, and the resources
to meet the needs of the day.
In that space
you have the opportunity to draw in
wisdom, unconditional love,
self-control, joy, peace,
kindness, gentleness, and trust.
Today, spend time in the spaces.
They are wondrous places
to visit.
Splash their blessings
all over you.
Evening Reflection
Okay, I know what you are thinking: the word “splash” came out of nowhere. Since there was not a single water reference in the guidance, where then did that come from?
It came from that primordial place where thought forms words. It is a creative way of expressing the idea that the blessings offered in the spaces created by patience and waiting flow over you.
The Divine is nothing if not creative. There is never just one way to get an idea across. I always did like the thought of tasting with my ears or touching with my eyes.
As far as patience goes, one of my favorite sermons preached by my father was on patience. The words, “But let patience have her perfect work” (James 1:4 KJV) still echo in my head. Patience is a quality that many find difficult to achieve. And now, when technology allows instant and faster, it is perhaps even more challenging to be patient.
That being said, spending a day practicing patience can yield amazing results. Patience takes the pressure off-everything. If you want to improve your ability to be patient and live its gifts, try this when you are feeling pressured: Inhale deeply, and as you exhale, let go of the need to control. Practice this for a day, and if it goes well see if you can stretch it over a couple of days. Any amount of patience is beneficial in our fast-paced society.
Patience doesn’t keep us from accomplishing, it allows us to enjoy accomplishing. Or even to enjoy not accomplishing. Now that is an accomplishment!

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Speak with beauty.
Do all with grace.
Be like a poem that
lifts the spirit and enlivens
the heart.
Let your words flow
like the refreshing waters
of a bubbling stream,
and let your actions
drip with peace.
Let divine light emanate from your eyes.
Think,
and allow love, kindness, and gentleness
to guide your thoughts.
Watch…
as miracles unfold.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Do to others
what you would want done to yourself.
Talk to others
the way you would want to be addressed.
This is a beautiful commitment.
It asks that you look inside your heart
and be honest about your actions.
It demands compassion for others.
It is about oneness,
and seeing yourself in others.
It is not easy.
It is also not so hard.
It is love in action.
Are you willing today?
Are you willing to be love?

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Get quiet.
Settle.
Let calm permeate
all you say and do.
No rushing.
Be smooth and relaxed
in your movements.
And listen.
Listen within the silence.
Hear me.
Listen for me
in the depths of your soul.
Let me sing my silence in you.
Let me fill you with my rich offerings.
Receive my wisdom.
Walk the world today in silent calm.
Wonders await you!
You’ll see.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Follow my lead.
You will feel it in you.
Listen to your heart.
You will hear me there.
Breathe deeply.
I will fill you with inspiration,
moment
by
moment.
I will show you the way today.
We will have fun, you and I.
Are you ready?
Go!
Hey!
Wait for me…
Evening Reflection
God has a sense of humor.
Of course God does! Anything we can do, God can. The Giver of All Life is the reason for all there is-all creation and everything in it. (This does not mean, however, that God is the author of evil. All creation is held in the field of divinity, but it does not mean it is all OF God.)
God does have a sense of humor, and I have laughed at God’s jokes countless times. Sometimes, of course, the joke is on me. This occurs when I am learning a life lesson in a manner that is intense and uncomfortable, when I could have learned the same lesson in a much easier way had I been wiser at the time.
God, I believe, loves to play with us and hear us laugh. Joy, inspiration, fun, and laughter are not antithetical to the Divine. When we finally got a picture of Jesus laughing, we finally got it right. God enjoys us!
But that is my experience. What’s yours?

God, what would you have of me today?

God, what would you have of me today?
I would have all of you,
in every way,
at all times,
always.
I already do, but the question is,
Do you realize it?
Even your doubts and disbeliefs about me are
part of the gift of free will that I have given as
a way of sharing myself with you.
I would have you give yourself back to me
daily
as your gift to me.
In doing so, your consciousness has
a chance to grow and expand
by leaps and bounds.
Will you give yourself to me today?
Evening Reflection
Asking someone, “What would you have of me?” could be considered an act of courage. It implies that you are willing to do whatever is asked of you. Depending on who you are saying this to, asking it of someone can also be somewhat scary. In that I am asking this of God, it becomes an act of trust and faith. I have learned, however, that although the Divine may surprise, the Divine always Loves. And love is compassionate and gentle; it never seeks to control, but to guide one to be one’s best self.
Christian scripture speaks of loving the Lord fully, with all one’s heart, soul, strength and mind. This is essentially our whole being. I am glad the One who created me wants all of me-even while letting me be me. It sounds convoluted, but it is,essentially, what it means to be one with God.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Relax.
Just be.
No pressure to be a certain way.
Just be alive
and see with joyful awareness
the creation you are.
Notice your breathing.
Notice that you can see, feel, sense,
taste, hear, touch.
Enjoy being today.
Feel
your aliveness:
the gift of it,
the privilege of it.
And be thankful.
Be thankful.
Be thankful.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Give up.
Let go of holding on
to grudges, anger or negative feelings.
Give up
holding on to the force of ego
that only weakens your whole being.
Take a deep breath and let go.
Being able to do this is indicative of
your true nature and highest self.
Keep letting go, giving up,
releasing, and breathing out
as negative energies
float away from you.
You will be tested in this,
so be strong in your commitment.
This is how spiritual growth happens.
As you let go of your darkness, you
will uncover my divine light
shining forth beauty,
kindness, joy,
and love-
and waiting for you to shine forth today.

God, what would you have me say and to today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
You know…
Love.
Let love be the power
that takes you through
this day.
Think about the people you meet and
all the day’s happenings as gifts for you.
Think of yourself as a gift for others.
If you find yourself straying from this
focus
pause…
stop…
don’t move.
Go into your soul’s centre and find
that place of pure love.
Let the love flow through your whole body.
Then
move, speak, act.
Ahh,
the things you can do with love,
with joy, with graciousness,
with thankfulness to God!

God, what would you have me do and say today?

God, what would you have me do and say today?
Wait.
Pull back.
Do not dive off the cliff
into the ocean of attitude, judgement and blame.
Hold off.
Make no move toward opinion.
Be stable in your mind;
allow light to shine through your eyes
and love to exude from
head to foot.
This is your mission today, no matter what else
happens.
Let nothing deter you.
This effort will allow you to
uncover, access,and reside in the
divine.
And the divine will become the ever-deepening
ocean into which you may freely dive.
Blessings and grace await you there.
So today,
wait.
Pull back. Be at peace.
