God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Today,
be thankful.
Give thanks for all things.
This simple task has within it great power.
The benefits for you
and the world are tremendous.
So today,for everyone you see,
give thanks.
For all the things said to you-
both the kind and the unwanted-
be thankful,
knowing that I work all things
for your benefit.
Be like the sun rising on a clear morning.
Give warmth and light.
Offer reassurance of my presence,
my love,
my life-giving sustenance,
and my power,
through which all things are made possible.
Today, be in awe of life itself.
Let the wonder of it envelop you.
Give thanks for life
and the beauty of it
and in it.
Give thanks for all things today.
For all things.
Will you do this?
Evening Reflection
The synchronicity of the daily guidance and the challenges encountered while living into it amazes me every time. Today was a beautiful day. I went to a gathering of people I had not seen in many years. The group included people who knew of me before I was born, as they were friends of my parents when I was in the womb. I took a loved one with me and had a very enjoyable time.
On the way home, a simple comment led to heated discussion that brought up some past wounds. I had enough awareness to be able to withdraw from conflict and try to quell the storm, but peace was difficult to come by. Remembering the day’s guidance, I found the strength to offer that I was thankful for the issues brought forth-but we spent the remaining drive-time in silence, for which I am so thankful.
Eventually the storm passed and we were able to speak our truths more peacefully and move on. But it took the storm to clear the air. At the time it was not an easy thing to deal with, but I am thankful that all things are contained in the love and grace of Divinity.
How did you fare?
