God, what wuld you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Speak in a manner that honors those you meet.
Be sincere in your acknowledgements.
Move in love.
Fill your gaze
with appreciation for those whose paths you cross,
for they are divine beings.
Walk amongst saints today-
and include yourself as one.
Hold deep gratitude
for those with whom you are sharing
your life journey.
Have no need to achieve notice for yourself,
but raise the esteem of those you speak with
by focusing on them with your full attention
and care.
Be vigilant.
Watch for anything
that hinders the giving of conditional love
and high regard.
Overcome your blocks with joy for life
and respect for all.
Today,all is divine,
all is miracle,
all is love.
Evening Reflection
Even as I become familiar with the synchronicity of the guidance and the challenges of each day, I am still constantly amazed. It is ever so clear that the wisdom and guidance of God are always available when we open ourselves to them. And you open yourself to wisdom and guidance by asking for them. Then you allow yourself to receive. How? By paying attention to your thoughts, your feelings, your intuition, and your gut.
Today was poignant. We had a family reunion of sorts. I was in Atlanta to see my mother, who had cooked a wonderful dinner of traditional soul food and invited the extended family over. The conversations were joyous, and the family closeness was precious. We prayed, sang, ate, talked, and laughed together and enjoyed each other immensely.
I stayed aware of the guidance and it helped me to focus on each person i talked with. I looked upon each person with appreciation and took special care to make sure the shy ones knew they were heard and appreciated. I listened eagerly and gently touched a shoulder or patted a back to affirm presence.I say each person as a miracle: each child, teenager, young adult, middle ager, and senior. I do not know how my behaviour registered with them, but the guidance ushered me into a rich, awakened experience of appreciation and gratitude for the people close to me.
Today was sweet-and the guidance, divine.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be gentle with yourself.
Accepting your humanity
is deeply important.
Forgive yourself whenever
anger, jealousy, or shame come up.
These are your unhealed wounds, whatever
the size.
Breathe and let compassion fill you.
Then extend this compassion
toward any person or situation
that disturbs your peace.
Remember that you are divine.
You are made of love in order to love.
Do not shrink or recoil.
Understand human nature.
Ask for whatever you need.
Believe in my love for you.
Breathe it in-and pass is on.
Love all today.
Love.

God, how would you have me be in the world today?

God, how would you have me be in the world today?
Be open.
Be receptive to ideas not your own.
Listen for, and hear with your heart,
my inner Yes.
As I have given ideas, thoughts, and leanings
to you, I have also given them to all others.
Be joyful for your gifts, and just as joyful
for the gifts that others have.
They are all gifts of mine.
Be welcoming and inviting.
Be grateful you
do not hold all things.
If you did, would you learn to share?
Expect all things to work together for good.
Breathe easily and watch how
I unfold the journey.
Be at peace with your life today.
Trust.
Listen.
Stay open.
Relax.
Laugh.
Enjoy me in all.
Enjoy me in all.
Evening Reflection
I attended a meeting where project ideas were offered for future consideration. I had previously put forth an idea that I thought was good. But today an idea that was amazingly creative and brilliant came from another person. I loved the vision offered and hesitated in my applause only for a moment (ah, ego). However, I did jokingly comment, “God likes you better than me,” which I instantly recognized as my ego invoking envy. However, the part of me that was aware of my ego’s game won out.
I was thankful that God had blessed this artist with his unique mind. And I felt grateful to be working with such a creative group of people.

God, how would you have me be in the world today?
Be like a fragrant flower
that knows it’s own beauty
without claiming it as it’s own.
Be seen…but be unobtrusive.
Walk softly.
Bend gently in the breeze.
Share your sweetness easily;
let it flow from you without effort.
Be kind and forgiving.
Remember
that you are firmly rooted in me.
Let the light of day open your heart,
and may your presence
bless everyone today.
Evening Reflection
It did not take long before I was tested on this guidance. About the same time as I finished writing this, my 12 year old son came and stood at my office door. It was 6:30 am and there he was with headphones on and the latest mini-music player in hand. He on one side of the door, planted firmly in the world of technology and constant stimulation, bouncing to the beat, and I on the other, in silence, resting in the glow of communing with God.
We looked at each other. Okay, we stared. I wondered what he was looking at. It was a sort of diffuse look, as if he were staring past me. I thought perhaps he was seeing the heavenly light surrounding me. (Okay that was my ego talking). Or more likely, he was wondering if it was okay to enter my space. I wasn’t quite ready for human contact, and was thinking No as he came in.
He walked up to me and said in a bright, innocent tone, “Good morning.”
“Darn,” I thought. He was just a fragrant flower…without a morning meditation. And he had beaten me at my own game. He got there first! How humbling. I did, however, regroup-and chimed back, “Good morning.” And he bounced away joyfully.
Let’s just say that what my son gave me was a wake-up call.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Treat others
the way you would like to be treated.
Live into this today.
Extend it from moment to moment.
Let it inform each encounter.
Imagine that everything you say to others
is being said to you.
Speak not from the standpoint of your
problems, worries, and fears,
but from your love, hope and faith.
Imagine that all you do to others is also done
to you.
Be guided not by your ego, agenda, or ambitions
but by your care for the joy
and well being of others.
You will deepen the well of compassion
you draw from,
increase the sensitivity of your soul,
and expand your spirit in new ways.
What a gift to give yourself today.
Do you want it?
Evening Reflection
Well, I tried.
I am amazed at how the daily guidance seems to bring up the very things that test me. It was hard work to keep my ego from being the one in charge today. I really had to tell my ego that it wasn’t the boss of me. I kept putting myself in the other person’s shoes as best I could, so that the other was not other, but same. This work did make me more aware of how I treat others.
When we do extend ourselves in this way, we can make a beachhead in another person’s soul and see him or her as even more than brother or sister. We can see others as ourselves. We can also become aware of how we speak to ourselves, and how we would like others to treat us.
Today’s message has ongoing usefulness for me. How did you do with it?

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Laugh.
Speak in light tones.
Do not be so serious.
Not today.
Play with me.
What game?
Hide and seek.
Find me in all my hidden places.
Seek me everywhere;
see me hiding in plain sight.
And laugh with me.
Today, life is fun,
and so are you.
Breathe
deeply and easily.
Let heaviness go.
Today,
let the lightness of your being
shine with joy for all to see.
Will you do this today?
Evening Reflection
I was not in a laughing mood today. This guidance was especially challenging and I forgot to carry it with me on my morning errands, which included visits to my accountant, the car mechanic, and an office supply store.
Laugh? Hardly.
After I got home and collected my guidance, I ventured to the post office. The post office and laughing don’t traditionally go together, but I found myself finding places in conversation where I could infuse some humor and make the interaction lighter and more jovial.
And it worked. I made people laugh. Well, some. When we can bring lightness of being to a post office, a copy place, and a car mechanic, we are doing good work in the world!
While eating dinner, a family member read from a paper on Hamlet. “Hamlet lost his ability to laugh. He lost his mirth and doesn’t know why.” This coincidence affirmed that the message of laughing had been a perfect one for the day.

God, how would you have me be in the world today?
Be like a soft breeze.
Caress others with your words.
Surround them with gentle, kind actions-
nothing harsh or sudden.
Imagine you are refreshment for
the soul.
You don’t need to do much.
Placing the tiniest bit of beauty into your
interactions
is enough.
Be easy to be around-
lightly felt, gently present-
so that others want to lean into
your peace, your calm,
your soothing spirit.
Taking in a deep breath of you,
others receive
life.

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Make room.
Give space for others to be together
without you.
Today, let go of any need to be needed.
Let your ego take this day off.
Relax.
Be alive without needing, wanting,
or desiring.
Forgive the parts of you that find
this difficult. Embrace them without resistance
or guilt.
This is how you grow.
Doing this will expand your soul
in a beautiful way.
New vistas of spirit will come into view.
Take them in and let them fill you.

unconditionally.

God, what would you have me say and do today?

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be sensitive.
Feel others’ pains, challenges, and burdens.
Forget your own today.
Be there for those who may need
to be heard and understood.
When you ask others,
How are you?
ask compassionately,with true concern
for their welfare,happiness and peace.
Smile with your eyes.
Allow the gate of
your willingness
to swing wide open.
Make room in your heart so you may hold
the hurts of those you live and work with.
During casual conversations and chance meetings,
extend a sweet spirit that invites others in.
Then
I will perform a perfect work through you.
A smile, a nod, a loving word, a gentle touch,
a silent attentiveness: your very presence
will be a gift,
a healing,
a blessing,
a miracle.
Evening Reflection
Today’s guidance proved a beautiful one. I read it before every planned encounter and was conscious of being more sensitive to others while allowing my own challenges to take a back seat. I found I was able to listen with bigger ears and respond more heartfully. When I asked, How are you? I didn’t get the usual answer: Fine. People responded with more openness and vulnerability. I then felt able to be more helpful, even if that involved simply listening.
People can hear and sense our love and care through our words and our tone of voice. They can see love in our eyes. Our care invites trust and allows others to be more forthcoming.
Today, following the guidance, I was grateful to be helpful in a more conscious way.

God, what would you have me say and do today?
Be a mirror image of me.
I am you.
You represent me in the world.
Be that which you cannot be
when apart from me.
Today, hold me within you…
Fall back into me
when your ego pushes forward.
Let go of yourself and let me through.
Give me your eyes, mouth, mind,
and heart, moment by moment.
I am you.
You are me.
We are one.
The day is blessed
and we are a blessing in it.
Our adventure awaits.
